Ospedale Bassini, Cinisello Balsamo (MI)
The concept concerns an unused terrace of 430 m2, open on 3 sides, that enters the Hospice Department at the 7th floor of Bassini Hospital. The space was created as a meeting place, recreation and rest for patients patients in the ward, and also for their families and for healthcare professionals.
The conceptual idea has been the Hortus conclusus, consisting of 3 areas thought to help the Social relationships, (Big Tree and Green Rooms), Interpersonal relationships (Pergolas) and Privacy relationships (Little Wood).
The green space is set up as: one of the senses (smell, space, view) with colorful and aromatic species; a space of to Do (touch and taste) with the practice of horticulture in vegetable garden, orchard or greenhouse; one sleeping space with shade and water, (trees, comfortable seating, a fountain and waterfall); one connective space (turf and paths).
The department inner hallway is a winter garden, with green, seats and a big fountain.
