The project is born from Mario Cucinella’s desire to have greenery inside the new installation of the Artemide Exhibition Center in the industrial area of the Artemide Company Headquarters in Pregnana Milanese (MI).
The concept was the central role of the greenery in the project for the enhancement of Artemide’s new corporate setup. The development of this project idea, required attention to be paid to the choice and location of plants species for both the interior and exterior but a continuous ribbon wraps and defines all the different spaces.
For the INDOOR the selected species are indoor plants that are able to withstand an environment with little light and water, as the furniture itself is designed to give an idea of outdoor light but in an indoor environment. Due to the impossibility of having an irrigation system, a sub-irrigation system with a dispenser in the pot for each individual plant was chosen.
For the OUTDOOR , the selected species are grasses and edible plants (ex. Ficus) planted in flowerbeds which are embraced by the red ribbon that welcomes the visitor.
The species were also chosen to give greater prominence to the newly produced lights by important designers: Mario Cucinella, BIG, Alexander Bellman, Davide Oppizzi.
