Enhancement of confiscated mafia property for the inhabitants of Santa Maria Imbaro. La Casa dei Mandarini is a community and social center for the Santa Maria Imbaro community (Chieti) in the building confiscated from the Mafia. Designed to host youth and children’s social-educational activities and outreach services, providing space for playroom and art workshops, study room, and library. It is a place for meeting, growth, and recreation. The design idea stems from the presence of a large tangerine tree placed in the courtyard of the area. The fruit is at the heart of the concept: just as the peel is permeable, so is the exterior cladding of the Tangerine House with its glimpses. The designed spaces represent the segments, rich in thoughts, ideas, and perceptions, while the seeds, symbolizing the present and future of the project, are represented by the future users who will bring life to the project.

Marilena Baggio will attend the annual conference in Selinunte which will take place from 23 to 25 June 2022 This year the theme of opportunities that will await architecture in Italy will be addressed, and the theme of the architecture of hospitality will be explored with particular attention to the tourist offer and the redevelopment of the villages. Projects and achievements aimed at improving the cultural offer of the area will also be analyzed, with particular attention to museums and parks.

The project for the New Gaslini – Landscape project designed by Greencure. The project for the modernization of the Irccs Gaslini hospital in Genoa was chosen, consisting of the construction, from scratch, of a hospital pavilion, the extraordinary maintenance/refurbishment of other pavilions assigned to healthcare activities and complementary services on the hospital premises. Greencure has contributed to the design of external spaces from scratch in the hospital area and to the enhancement of the existing ones through an extraordinary maintenance plan, according to the principle of “places of care with the care of places” according to which the attention is focused on the person who enjoys them.

Urban and social regeneration project for the Casoria ERP. The project envisages the integration of a public square, playground area, urban vegetable gardens, and community gardens, also on roofs, to create a new identity for the neighborhood within a large open park; which is accompanied by the rehabilitation of the housing through a new structure that approaches the existing buildings which generate loggias and terraces. The aim of the project is to create a sense of belonging and identity in the community also through the interaction of the inhabitants with the same spaces: for example by equipping the complex with small vegetable gardens, greenhouses on the balconies, and shared spaces to take care of.
