The Fontecchio Oasis is a landscape regeneration project that transforms the former garden of the Baroni Corvi family into a new public space in the heart of the village of Fontecchio, within the Sirente Velino Regional Nature Park. The project revisits an area of great identity and environmental value, returning it to the community as an open, accessible place connected to the surrounding landscape.

The design approach considers the landscape as cultural and natural infrastructure. The morphology of the site, the existing stone structures, and the spontaneous greenery become generative elements of the design, guiding an intervention that integrates historical memory, biodiversity, and new public functions. The original layout is recovered and reinforced through a system of paths that connect to the existing tracks, enhancing the terraced layout and the differences in elevation.

Inside the Oasis there is an outdoor educational area, a botanical garden created along an ancient stone staircase, a small square for group activities, and a belvedere offering new views of the valley.
These features are set in an environment that retains large areas of natural character, with continuity between spontaneous vegetation and new plantings. The use of local materials such as stone and chestnut wood ensures material consistency and a direct dialogue with the Apennine landscape, while the color blue becomes a common thread that recalls the memory of the water and springs that characterize the area.

The project defines a multifunctional park where nature, social life, and culture intertwine. The Oasis thus becomes a place capable of hosting educational activities, community events, and landscape discovery trails, contributing to the regeneration of the village and the construction of new forms of belonging.

An intervention that interprets the landscape as a living space, to be inhabited and shared, in line with Greencure landscaping’s approach to contemporary green design.
