The new Artemide Exhibition Centre is an exhibition area connected to the Innovation Centre at the Headquarters in Pregnana Milanese, destined to become a permanent yet evolving place to show light in all its forms.

Greencure landscaping responded to the request of one of the world’s best-known lighting brands to create a green design that would dialogue with the space and amplify its narrative, accompanying the visitor in an immersive itinerary in continuous evolution, where light is revealed through ever-changing settings.

The idea was developed through an architectural ribbon running fluidly through the more than 1,000 square metres that defines and links the different spaces, both indoor and outdoor. The greenery is a fundamental component for the enhancement of Artemide’s new corporate design, and required special attention to the choice and placement of plants.

The structure is open and permeable between indoors and outdoors, between built-up area and nature; it fits into an industrial building that is not masked but allowed to be glimpsed through the openings in the false ceilings, generating a dialogue between existing and built-up area, between natural and artificial light.

The plant species are specially selected to emphasise the newly produced lights, by important designers such as: Mario Cucinella, BIG, Alexander Bellman, Davide Oppizzi.
One of the main challenges, stems from the choice of plants for indoors, whose needs are dictated by their ability to resist in a low light and waterless environment. The indoor part is in continuity with the outdoor, the lighting is designed to simulate outdoor environments.

Water is provided by a sub-irrigation system with a metering device for each individual plant.
For the outdoors, the selected species are grasses and edible plants (e.g. fig) in planters embraced by the red ribbon that welcomes the visitor.
