The redevelopment of the ERP Public Housing Residences in Castagna Street, is an opportunity to look at a possible future of change. The rehabilitation of not only the built-up area but also the surrounding area is born of a new image of the city: from a city of disuse and congestion, to a sustainable, innovative and green city. The study of greenery for these buildings stems from an ecological concept of respecting local biodiversity, landscape composition in connection with the surroundings, and environmental sustainability as maintenance and attention to climatic and phytopathological changes in species. Green becomes a means of VISUAL COMMUNICATION but also a SIGN of ACCESSIBILITY and INTERACTION with different roadways, HELP to exercise ORIENTATION by increasing EMOTIONAL SAFETY among people. Therefore, deciduous plants with light texture were favored to avoid dark and unsafe corners. The areas identified are: the fenced Community Garden to the north, the Inner Court with the children’s play area and basketball/football court in the center, the plaza and flower meadow to the south, the dog area and skate park with the power cabin building used for street art. To the east and west there are the vegetable gardens.
